‘PLENA PAUSA’. ZULUETA BY JOTA

Is there a more exciting screening than one with live music? Few filmmakers are more lucid than Iván Zulueta when it comes to representing the hedonism, freedom and transgression that characterized the Movida Madrileña. In Plena Pausa, some of his short films in super-8 and 16 mm will be screened, divertimentos and amalgamations of both fiction and personal films shot in the sixties, seventies and eighties, mostly unpublished and assembled as a single piece. A journey through the life and work of the author of the mythical Arrebato (1978) to which Jota, vocalist of Los Planetas, who accepted the challenge proposed by Filmoteca Española, the architect of the restoration, provides the soundtrack.

"The lyrics were inspired by the images, they are cinematographic stories, moods, drugs like heroin". This is how the singer defines the process of creating a soundtrack and stills whose origins come from the American and British underground scene, a point in common with the style of the group from Granada, and whose final result can be seen on Friday 20, at 9.30 pm, at the Teatro Carrión.
