During the closing ceremony, held at the Calderón Theatre, the Golden Spike was awarded ex aequo to The Mastermind by Kelly Reichardt and Magellan by Lav Díaz.

SEMINCI’s director, José Luis Cienfuegos, and Serge Toubiana, member of the International Jury, presented the award to the filmmaker at the Calderón Theater

David Trueba closes the 70th SEMINCI with Siempre es invierno: ‘Fiction makes us better people, because it allows us to see life from the perspective of others’

The director and author presented the world premiere of the film alongside actors David Verdaguer and Jon Arias, actresses Amaia Salamanca and Isabelle Renauld, and producers Edmon Roch and Jaime Ortiz de Artiñano
