Alpha is a troubled 13-year-old girl who lives with her single mother. Her world crashes down the day she comes home from school with a tattoo on her arm.

After graduating in screenwriting from La Fémis, she rose to prominence in 2011 when her short film, 'Junior,' won an award at the Critics' Week in Cannes. 'Raw,' her first feature film, caused a stir when it was presented in competition at the Critics' Week in 2016 and won the Fipresci Prize, before earning five César nominations and awards at festivals including Toronto, Sundance, Gérardmer, and Sitges. In 2021, she won the Palme d'Or at Cannes with 'Titane,' her second feature film, which received five EFA Award nominations. In 2020, she directed two episodes of the American series Servant, created by M. Night Shyalaman, and two years later she directed two episodes of the Apple TV+ series ‘The New Look’. With ‘Alpha’ (2025), her third feature film, she returned to the Cannes competition.
