Juan is a handsome young man who has moved for work reasons from Madrid to a small provincial capital with an oppressive atmosphere. Overcome by boredom, he decides, together with his friends, to play a cruel prank on Isabel, a 35-year-old woman who is still single, and pretends to be in love with her. She, who experiences the feeling that she has failed by not having found a man yet, clings to the opportunity of her life and falls for him. Driven by her newly-found happiness, she begins to think about the preparations for the wedding, but her destiny still reserves a cruel blow for her in the form of reality.
