Tommy, a 19-year-old hooligan, enjoys a life of drugs, parties, and violence. One night, during a binge, he becomes separated from his friends and is kidnapped by a stranger. Although familiar with violence, he is enraged and horrified when he wakes up to find himself chained in the basement of the isolated family home of Chris, his almost ghostly wife Kathryn, and their young son Jonathan. The family sets out to reform Tommy's rebellious behavior, forcing him to submit to their relentless mind games or seek escape at any cost.
