A rebellious, sensitive teenager who does not agree with the hypocrisy and falsehood of the adult world, Beata leaves a quiet and prosperous home and a school where she has had no problems. Nobody understands why. Except for aboy who is deeply in love with Beata.
Anna Sokołowska
Born in 1933 in Warsaw, Poland, she died in 2016. After working as an assistant director, she made her film debut in 1963 with ‘The Great Big World and Little Children’, a classic of Polish fantasy cinema. Two years later, she directed ´Beata’, which won the Special Jury Prize at Valladolid in 1966. Her subsequent film work includes six more feature films, as well as the television series ‘CBS Children's Film Festival’, which ran for twelve years and won awards at several specialized festivals.
