The planet is starving, but a corporation called The Mill has the solution: miracle bread. Except it turns people who eat it into fresh loaves of walking bread. A devoted sister tries to save her little bread-brother, who’s being pursued by a hungry mob through twisted streets. Hunger reigns, reason crumbles. In a world that wants to eat you alive, can love defy appetite?

Born in Bulgaria, Alex Boya is a Montreal-based animator and filmmaker known for his surreal, hand-drawn storytelling. At the NaWonal Film Board of Canada, he coined the term “genomic animaWon,” a technique that distorts biological forms to explore idenWty and transformaWon. His film 'Turbine' (2018) established his Kafkaesque vision. With 'Bread Will Walk', Boya continues to examine dystopian absurdity, crafing worlds where the grotesque and poeWc intersect, and quesWoning the boundaries between human, object and the logic that binds them.
