Pendaripen, la historia silenciada del Pueblo Gitano

Estreno mundial
Pendaripen tells the story of the Roma/Gypsy people from their arrival in Spain to the present day through the words of Gypsy writers, essayists, anthropologists, historians, researchers, lawyers, politicians and artists. For the first time in our country, they are given a voice to tell of their origins, centuries of persecution, discrimination and oppression, but also of cultural mixing with the black, Christian and Moorish populations, giving rise to an art form that is unique in the world: flamenco.
Alfonso Sánchez
A multifaceted Andalusian artist, born in Seville in 1978, he is best known as one half of the comedy duo Los Compadres alongside Alberto López, with an unmistakable style that combines social satire and local customs. From the start, he has worked with his production company, MundoFicción, directing feature films such as ‘El mundo es nuestro’ (2012), ‘El mundo es suyo’ (2018), ‘Para toda la muerte’ (2020), ‘Superagente Makey’ (2020) and ‘El mundo es vuestro’ (2022). He also served as executive producer on the series ‘Giants’ for Movistar+, and has remained a steady presence on stage. In 2023, he made the leap to the documentary genre with ‘Sembrando sueños’, a moving tribute to the Álvarez Quintero brothers, and a year later he presented the documentary ‘Francisco de Saavedra, puño y letra de la historia’.
