Inés and her grandmother Esperanza have always had a special relationship, but it wasn’t until she was in her thirties when they talked about her youth. Esperanza opens a box of memories, to talk about things she has never shared. Photographs from the family archive come to life to the rhythm of the songs Esperanza hums. The lyrics of ‘Batallón de Modistillas’, a cuplé from the late 19th century, starts Inés on a journey of discovery.
