Afioco Gnecco, Carolina Yuste
Afioco Gnecco is an Italian-Chilean director, producer and screenwriter. In 2017, he created the series ‘Indetectables’ in collaboration with the NGO Apoyo Positivo, and in 2023 he released the short film ‘La acampada’, which won the Silver Biznaga and the Audience Award at the Malaga Film Festival. In 2024, he was selected for the Film Academy Residencies, where he is developing his first feature film. Carolina Yuste trained at the Royal School of Dramatic Art (RESAD) in Madrid and at the La Manada theatre research centre. In 2019, she won the Goya for Best Supporting Actress for her role in ‘Carmen & Lola’ (2018). In 2024, she was nominated for Best Actress for ‘Jokes & Cigarettes’, and in 2025, she received her second Goya, this time as Best Actress, for her performance in ‘Undercover’. On television, she has starred in series such as ‘No Traces’ (2023) and ‘La canción’ (2025), and in theatre she was nominated for best female performance for ‘Prostitución’ (2020) and has just starred in ‘Caperucita en Manhattan’ (2025). Together they co-directed ‘Ciao Bambina’ (2024, Silver Biznaga for best short documentary in Malaga and nominated for a Goya) and ‘Este cuerpo mío’ (2025), their debut feature film.
