Kautela, el fotógrafo

After finding a suitcase hidden in the family home of Francisco Martínez Gascón, the latter’s granddaughter decides to carry out a research project on her grandfather, nicknamed Kautela. We discover a large number of unpublished photographs and documents that prove that Martínez Gascón lived during the Spanish Civil War and photographed the conflict from the nationalist side. Thanks to his snapshots, we witness the birth of modern photojournalism, and also a cruel war that devastated our country. At the same time, the film takes us through a journey into the life of this photographer, so far unknown to the general public.

Patricia Roda Amador

She studied Film Directing at Barcelona’s CECC. Since then, she has worked as production manager and executive producer for several fiction films and documentaries, including ‘Fleta. Tenor. Mito’, ‘Marcelino, el mejor payaso del mundo’ or ‘Cineclub’, for which she won the Gaudí award for Best Production Management in 2010. As a director, she won the Silver Biznaga at the Malaga Film Festival with the documentary feature film ‘El viaje de las reinas’, which was also screened at DOC. España during the 59th Seminci. She is a member of the Board of Directors of CIMA (Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media Creators).
