A toast to the people of wine

“There are many ways of making wine and very different wines”, and behind these diverse processes and fruits, “many extraordinary people”. It is these people, “artists who make a product for which they feel responsible and proud”, whom José Luis López-Linares has sought to set up Rioja, la tierra de los mil vinos, which is making its world premiere at the 68th Seminci in the Castilla y León en Largo section, as the producer Rodrigo Espinel is behind the project. Also important in this film is “the land, the air”, as the director pointed out in an interview for Canal Seminci.

After a first work around the wines of Jerez, López-Linares has stopped in the wine territory of Rioja, without overlooking its monumental wealth, and he would not mind continuing the project in the rest of Spain and, of course, in Ribera del Duero, as he confessed.

For the moment, he hopes that after watching the film the viewer leaves the cinema with the need to “open a bottle” and “aware that he is privileged to have that familiarity with wine, that it is part of our life”. Because, as he pointed out, in few places is this ritual of having a glass “in company” so well established.
