Seminci will host the Independent Film Market. MERCI Valladolid, the only initiative of its kind in Spain

Co-organized by the Festival and ADICINE, it will exclusively program the most eagerly awaited independent film premieres for exhibitors, television channels and platforms.

From October 25 to 27, Valladolid will host the third edition of the Independent Film Market (MERCI Valladolid), an initiative co-organized by SEMINCI and the Association of Independent Film Distributors (ADICINE), conformed by 16 of Spain’s leading distribution companies.

MERCI Valladolid, the only initiative of its kind in Spain, aims to promote independent and auteur cinema and comes to Valladolid after the two first editions in Seville. Its purpose is to bring the most outstanding titles of Spanish independent distributors to exhibitors, television channels and platforms to facilitate and boost relations between professionals in the audiovisual industry.

Over three days, MERCI Valladolid, with the help of different distributors that conform ADICINE, will program at Broadway Cinema the premieres of the most awaited independent and auteur films, scheduled to hit theaters at the end of 2023 and over 2024. The screenings will be of exclusive access for Spanish exhibitors, television channels and platforms, in order to get a better exploitation of their release.

MERCI Valladolid is connected to the activity Find distribution in SEMINCI, which has offered accredited professionals the possibility of seeing titles programmed by the contest that had not yet guaranteed their premiere in Spain. As part of this activity, the Conference on Independent Distribution was organized in collaboration with ADICINE, led by the former director of SEMINCI and the ICAA Fernando Lara.

MERCI Valladolid will continue to hold these conferences with a new format that will bring together different meetings, talks and round tables with film industry professionals. Among other objectives, these conferences, coordinated by Olimpia Pont and Fernando Lara, will congregate numerous experts to discuss new tools that distributors and exhibitors can use in the development of promotional strategies for each premiere.

ADICINE: “MERCI Valladolid will be more ambitious and continuing”

MERCI Valladolid consolidates SEMINCI’s commitment as an ally of independent and auteur film distributors and exhibitors, as highlighted by Lara P. Camiña and Enrique Costa, co-presidents of ADICINE. “From the association, we are excited to continue collaborating with José Luis Cienfuegos in his new adventure. The fact that MERCI 3.0 will be held in Seminci is very positive because it will allow for a more ambitious and continuing event, as we will keep to collaborate with the team that launched this project two years ago. Seminci has traditionally hosted the industry meetings Find Distribution in Seminci and this year this activity will be part of MERCI 3.0″.

ADICINE is conformed by distributors A Contracorriente Films, Avalon, Bteam Pictures, Caramel Films, DeAPlaneta, Elastica Films, Festival Films, Filmax, Golem Distribución, Karma Films, La Aventura Audiovisual, Selecta Visión, Syldavia Cinema, Tripictures, Vértigo Films and Wanda Visión.
