The world premiere of SerYo at the 71st Seminci will also bring Sergio Peris-Mencheta together with students from the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Castilla y León (ESADCYL) for a private session on Friday 23 October.
An actor and director with an extensive career in film, television and theatre, both in Spain and internationally, Peris-Mencheta will reflect on his professional journey and the different paths he has taken in front of and behind the camera, as well as on stage.
SerYo will also be central to the discussion. The film follows a decisive moment in his life: while preparing for a bone marrow transplant 9,000 kilometres away, he decides that his next theatre premiere cannot wait. From there, the session will explore the relationship between life and creative work, the doubts and decisions that accompany the profession, and how, even in moments of profound difficulty, the need to tell stories, imagine and create can become a powerful way of moving forward.
The event is organised in collaboration with the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Castilla y León and AISGE.
