From the 1940s to the 1970s, Spanish haute couture achieved significant international prominence. The Golden Age of Spanish Fashion spans more than three decades through 75 pieces by Pedro Rodríguez, Asunción Bastida, Manuel Pertegaz, Carmen Mir and Elio Berhanyer, while also considering the influence of Cristóbal Balenciaga. Cinema also occupies a prominent place in the exhibition, particularly Una muchachita de Valladolid, whose entire wardrobe was designed by Pedro Rodríguez.
