A conflict that evokes the wound of man. June 1816. The Alliance frigate, of the French Navy, runs aground off the coast of Senegal. As lifeboats are not enough to evacuate all the crewmen, a precarious raft is built which 147 men must board by force and is left to its fate. Hunger, the inclement sea, madness and a fierce fight are all unleashed on thedrifting raft. A horror that lasted days and days. Of those 147 men, only nine managed to save their lives. Among them were Savigny, a ruthless medical officer, and Thomas, arebellious private. Confronted with each other, they cope with these events exhibiting different attitudes in order to survive. A stage where they showed the greatest ofcruelties and the sweetest of pieties.
