The filmmaker and artist Ulu Braun who has exhibited at KW Berlin, Smithsonian, Centre Pompidou, Museo de Reina Sofía and the Kunsthalle, leads us here through a pictorial panorama of the American West. Julian Assange appears among the fake buildings of imperial Romeas a soda salesman pondering the digitalisation of our world. All around him, hippies, artists and homeless people are captured by surveillance cameras. Where is the enemy and who has the image rights?
Ulu Braun
Ulu Braun (1976) lives in Berlin and Finland. Between 1996 - 2005 he studied painting and film in Vienna, Helsinki, and Berlin. He has been using the medium of video to explore the field between the visual arts and auteur cinema since 1999 and he is one of the key figures who have transferred painting into video art. His works are regularly shown at film festivals and exhibited in art institutions.
