Miguel, a landscape architect, travels to Belgium with his girlfriend Marta to attend a conference. There, his relationship comes to an abrupt end, and after breaking up with his partner, he decides to stay on alone for a few more days to try to figure out his future. Broken and confused, Miguel meets Olga, a woman who works as a volunteer at the architecture conference. With her by his side, he will begin to rebuild himself and understand his new life project.

Multifaceted filmmaker and writer born in Madrid in 1969. After co-writing the screenplay for ‘Amo tu cama rica’ (1991), he studied Film at the American Film Institute. In 1996, he made his directorial debut with ‘The Good Life’, selected for the Cannes Directors' Fortnight, followed by ‘Masterpiece’ (2000) and ‘Soldiers of Salamina’ (2003, selected for Un Certain Regard at Cannes and nominated for eight Goya Awards). With ‘Welcome Home’ (2006), he was awarded Best Director in Malaga, and in 2013 his film ‘Living Is Easy with Eyes Closed’ won six Goya Awards and was selected to represent Spain at the Oscars. With ‘Jokes & Cigarettes’ (2023) he received 11 Goya nominations and his filmography includes other titles such as ‘La silla de Fernando’ (2006), ‘Madrid, 1987’ (2003, selected at Sundance) and the series ‘¿Qué fue de Jorge Sanz?’, among many others, as well as working on the screenplays for films like ‘Amo tu cama rica’ (1991), ‘Two Much’ (1995), ‘Perdita Durango’ (1997), ‘The Girl of Your Dreams’ (1998) and ‘Memories of My Father’ (2020).
