1943. Franco has blocked the path of refugees fleeing Nazi oppression over the Pyrenees mountains. At the border crossing in a small village, Manel Grau, a civil servant with a Republican past, decides to go against the orders of his superiors and aid the Jews across the border, with the help of Juliana, a fellow inhabitant of the village, and Jerôme, and French smuggler. Between them, they will start a crusade to help as many Jews as they possibly can. It is then that Manel finds himself caught up in a dangerous odyssey that will awaken old ghosts from the still recent Spanish Civil War in him and his wife Mercè.
Judith Colell
Born in Barcelona in 1968, she holds a PhD in Communication from Ramon Llull University, a degree in Art History (UB), and a Certificate in Film from New York University. In addition to various television films, she participated in the collective feature film 'Domain of the Sense' (1997) and directed 'Women’, which won an award at the Sitges Film Festival. This was followed by '53 Días de Invierno' (2006, selected for Zabaltegui-Nuevos Directores in San Sebastián) and 'Elisa K', co-directed with Jordi Cadena, which won the Special Jury Prize at San Sebastian and earned the Sant Jordi Award and a Goya nomination for its lead actress, Aina Clotet. In 2012, she served as a member of the International Jury at Seminci , and in 2021, with '15 Hours', she won the Signis Award at the Málaga Film Festival. The winner of the National Film Award from the Generalitat of Catalonia, she was co-founder of CIMA and Vice President of the Film Academy, and currently chairs the Catalan Cinema Academy.
