After 8-year-old Josephine accidentally witnesses a crime in Golden Gate Park, she acts out in search of a way to regain control of her safety while adults are helpless to console her.

A filmmaker born in San Francisco, who holds dual US and Brazilian nationality. She holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley and an MFA from the American Film Institute. She was named to Filmmaker Magazine's list of 25 New Faces of Independent Cinema. His first feature film, ‘Soft & Quiet’, premiered at the 2022 SXSW film festival and was acquired by Blumhouse; she was nominated for the Gotham Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award. Her story ‘Moth,Don't Move’, based on her feature film screenplay, ‘Josephine’, participated in the 2018 Sundance Directors Lab, the Screenwriters Lab, is a recipient of the SFFILM Rainin Filmmaking Grant, and the Dolby Institute Fellowship. ‘Josephine’ (2026), her second feature film, had its world premiere at Sundance, before being selected for the Berlinale.
