In the vibrant New York of the late 1980s, Jimmy George, a well-known artist on the underground scene, finds himself at a turning point in his life where, despite everything, beauty and love are still possible.
Ira Sachs
A filmmaker born in Memphis (United States) in 1965. He began his career in New York in the 1990s with several short films, before making his feature film debut with ‘The Delta’ (1996), which competed at Sundance, where he went on to win the Grand Jury Prize for ‘Forty Shades of Blue’ (2005) and returned with ‘Keep the Lights On’ (2012), which was also included in the Panorama section at the Berlin Film Festival, where it won the Teddy Award. He returned to the Panorama section with ‘Love Is Strange’ (2014), ‘Passages’ (2023, presented out of competition at Sundance) and ‘Peter Hujar’s Day’ (2025). His filmography is rounded off by ‘Married Life’ (2007), ‘Little Men’ (2016, featured in the Berlinale’s Generation Kplus section) and ‘Frankie’ (2019), which premiered in competition at Cannes, where she returned this year to compete in the Official Selection with ‘The Man I Love’ (2026).
