Sound takes centre stage at the 71st Seminci and, for the first time, the European Film Academy will bring together members of its Sound Designers Chapter in Valladolid. From 26 to 28 October, European professionals specialising in sound design will take part in a gathering to share best practice and experiences and forge new professional connections.

Among them will be Tarn Willers (Oscar winner for *The Zone of Interest*), Silvia Moraes (*Life Is Beautiful*, *It Was the Hand of God*), Daniela Bassani (*Gomorrah*) and Axel Arft (*Wings of Desire*). On 27 October, the four will take part in a session open to the public focusing on their craft and the processes of sound design in cinema.

Created by the European Film Academy to strengthen the presence of the various film trades within the institution, the Sound Designers Chapter brings together sound professionals and helps to raise the profile of their creative role in cinema. During their stay in Valladolid, its members will also take part in activities linked to the programme that Seminci is dedicating this year to sound and will meet with professionals from the Spanish film industry.
