The films at the 70th SEMINCI have won more than 50 international awards

The titles programmed in 2025 have won, among other awards, two Oscars, two Goyas, seven Césars, three BAFTAs, five Golden Globes, and eight European Film Academy Awards, with ‘Hamnet’, ‘Sentimental Value’, and ‘The Secret Agent’ emerging as the big winners.

SEMINCI will continue José Luis Cienfuegos’ legacy in its 71st edition

The current heads of programming and coordination of SEMINCI, Javier H. Estrada and Mariona Viader, will co-direct the next edition of the festival to ensure its stability and the continuity of the project launched in 2023.

José Luis Cienfuegos will be posthumously awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts

Film festivals, politicians, filmmakers, and institutions across Spain and Europe have praised how he championed auteur cinema for 30 years through his work leading some of Spain’s most prominent film festivals in Valladolid, Gijón, and Seville.
