She is an Iranian-Dutch video artist and filmmaker based in the Netherlands. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, in 2002, Ra- jaei attended a two-year residency at the Rijksaka- demie van Beeldende Kunsten Amsterdam. In 2009, she was awarded the Prix de Rome basic prize. Her work has been exhibited and screened at various art venues and festivals worldwide, including de Appel Arts Center, Art Brussels, and film festivals like Berlin, Hong Kong or Rotterdam, and many more. Her short film ‘City of Poets’ (2024) premiered at Berlinale Shorts, screened in various festivals worldwide, and won numerous awards including the European Short Film- Prix Vimeo at the Euro- pean Film Awards 2026. Her debut feature film, ‘Headless Trees’, is currently in development.
