Wales, 1999. Maz, a rebellious sixteen-year-old living in a small seaside town, has tempestuous relationships with her little sister Cari and just-managing single mother Alwen. She only ever felt close to her father, but he died five years ago, leaving her best mate Little Elis as the only person who really gets her. Astronomy is Maz’s big passion. She enjoys nothing more than ‘star seshing’ with Little Elis, but on a star sesh, feeling more alone than ever, Maz witnesses a UFO in the darkened sky. The sight brings back repressed memories from the night her father died; flashes of his abduction by a mysterious flying saucer.

Writer / Director. He is an award-winning filmmaker with more than a decade creating work that is tender, funny, and gently political. His work walks the line between drama and comedy, combining the pulp of genre with domesticity and empathy to tell stories about human connection and the imagination. With over a hundred festival selections, his short films include Sundance London-nominated ‘The Elevator Pitch’ (2014), ‘Contractor 014352’ (2017), which screened on Canal+ internationally, and BAFTA long-listed ‘The Plunge’ (2018). ‘Out There’ (2026), his debut film had its world premiere in the official competition of the Edinburgh Festival.
