Kieron J. Walsh
Multi-award-winning British director born in 1969. He studied Fine Art sculpture in Dun Laoghaire school of Art and Design, and received a British Council scholarship to study film at the Royal College of Art in London. His latest feature film, ‘Skintown’ (2026), had its world premiere at the Edinburgh Festival, and his previous film, ‘The Racer’ (2020), premiered at SXSW 2.Previous features include IFTA nominated ‘When Brendan Met Trudy’ (2000), premiered at Toronto International Film Fest, and IFTA nominated ‘Jump!’ (2012) was selected for the same festival. His TV credits include hit Channel 4’s hit series ‘The Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star’ (1998, RTS award), IFTA nominated ‘Watermelon’ (2003, ITV) and ‘Kitchen’ (2007, C5). He also directed the first series of ‘Raw’ (RTÉ) and satirical series ‘The Savage Eye’ (2009, RTE) both nominated for an IFTA for Best Director. In 2022 he directed episodes of ‘Inside n.º 9’ for BBC TV and ‘The Hardacres’ (2024) for Channel 5.
