‘El viaje de Julieta’ introduces us to the universe of an enduring artist who is part of the history of the Spanish and world theatre and film scene and has worked for the most significant directors and artists. It has been more than 65 years since she began her career on stage, as she herself confesses: «I came to theatre out of dissatisfaction, out of represión; the theatre was my Island, my Neverland». This documentary provides an insight into the life of the person and the artist and her commitment as an actress —her rigour, versatility and craft, but above all her overwhelming passion for a profession to which she has dedicated her whole life.
Born in Madrid in 1984, he trained as an actor at Cristina Rota’s Drama School and studied at Catalonia’s Centre for Film Studies, where he earned a degree in Cinematography. He also completed ECAM’s Filmmaking Course (‘Fisuras de lo real’) taught by Victor Erice, Sergio Oksman and Alberto Morais. He has worked on the camera crew in films like ‘A Tram in Spain’ (Aitzol Aramaio, 2008), ‘Biutiful’ (Alejandro G. Iñárritu, 2010), ‘The Double Steps’ (Isaki Lacuesta, 2011), ‘Clay Diary’ (Isaki Lacuesta, 2011) or ‘The King of Havana’ (Agustí Villaronga, 2015). This documentary is his directorial debut.
