In the arid Canary Islands of the 15th century, Fátima is enslaved by a decadent marquis who controls the island’s only source of fresh water. When rebellion erupts and the well runs dry, she ventures into the barren landscape in search of water —and a chance of survival for the entire community.

Helena Girón, Samuel M. Delgado. Their work explores the relationships between mythology, history, and materialism. Their first feature film, 'They Carry Death' (2021), premiered and won awards at the Venice and San Sebastian film festivals. It was subsequently selected for numerous international festivals, including Rotterdam, Cairo, Mar del Plata, Vienna, Hamburg, and São Paulo. They have also produced numerous short films that have screened at festivals such as Toronto, Locarno, New York, and Ann Arbor, among many others. They have created installations and performances for various art institutions, including BAM (New York), CCCB (Barcelona), Conde Duque (Madrid), and CGAC (Santiago de Compostela). Their second feature film, 'The Fortunate Isles' (2026), premiered in the Discovery section of the Toronto International Film Festival.
