Padraic McKinley
Filmmaker and editor born in San Francisco (United States) in 1974. He found his first opportunity in the film business through his uncle, acclaimed film editor William M. Anderson, whose work includes such iconic films as ‘The Truman Show’, ‘Gallipoli’ and ‘Dead Poets Society’. Starting out as a music editor on Anderson’s films, McKinley became a renowned film editor in his own right, having now cut 19 feature films and over 200 episodes of television. He parlayed his editing experience into directing and producing, beginning with DirecTV’s standout drama ‘Kingdom’, where he served as co-executive producer and director of four episodes. As an executive producer, he worked on series such as ‘American Gods’, ‘Hunters’, the Golden Globe-winning ‘The Loudest Voice’ and ‘The Good Lord Bird’, before returning to directing on the Netflix Original Documentary Series ‘Fightworld’ and the NBC series ‘Debris’. In 2026, he made his directorial debut with ‘The Weight’ (2026), which had its world premiere at Sundance before being selected for the Berlinale.
